Located in Tremé, the oldest African-American neighborhood in the United States, the neighborhood is the site of many major events that have shaped the course of Black America in the past two centuries. The siding is mostly clapboard but there is scalloped siding around the gable. An attractive gable window is flanked by two louvers An intricate wood design has been placed above the porch windows and front door casings. Hurricane shutters grace the windows. A substantial carriage light fixture hangs down from multi-color porch ceiling. Porch posts, intricate fretwork, and a wood railing adds to the home’s curb appeal. It’s a lovely place to stay and very close to the French Quarter.
