When you enter Louisiana for Mardi Gras celebrations or any other celebration or vacation or visit you will see Fleur de Lis symbol all over the place. The fleur-de-lis symbolizes purity, royalty, and sovereignty, often associated with the French monarchy. Although absolute monarchy is no longer around, the symbol lives on as a connection to French settlers and traditions, including Mardi Gras.
