Balcony Mardi Gras Queen (Prints)
Balcony Mardi Gras Queen (Prints)
The oversized Mardi Gras Queen on the second floor balcony is a product of imagination, styrofoam, and papier-mâché pulp. This grand two-story home is not only decked out in Mardi Gras splendor such as beads, wreaths, bunting, and of course its sculpture but also with eight columns, five floor-to-ceiling arched windows, a floor-to-ceiling entrance, and a dormer on the roof. As you drive up to this house, the columns stand out but the elaborate woodwork, the first floor porch, its second floor balcony, cast iron railings and gates make this easy-on-the-eyes house a jewel to behold.
